Thank you for your interest in HeadHunters Drumsticks. We take great pride in our products and we hold ourselves to the highest standards of quality and value in producing our unique and innovative drumsticks.
HeadHunters drumsticks are grouped into five product lines. Within each product line there are a number of different drumstick series, each with a distinct profile that is offered in several different weights and diameters. For example, within the "Maple Grooves" product line, the "C Series" profile consists of three stick models with differing weights and diameters. They are denoted by the simple nomenclature C, CC, CCC which differentiates the weights and diameters from small to large.
Many drum stick companies dip or tumble their drum sticks in solvent based lacquers. These lacquers are extremely fast drying but they are also extremely dangerous, toxic, and bad for the environment. These lacquers are called nitrocellulose...even the name sounds bad! Many years ago we switched to a somewhat safer water based lacquer but after much experimentation, we have settled on our proprietary natural wax finishes for their beauty and unsurpassed tactile feel. After many attempts we discovered a combination of environmentally friendly natural waxes that protect the wood, enhances its natural beauty and most important to drummers, provide a great grip. In fact, as the hand warms up the stick, the grip is improved.
